“Bartender Stands Firm Against Customer’s Ice-Free Alcohol Request for Responsible Service”

A bartender named Jemima June, working at a club in Nashville, Tennessee, has found herself at the center of a lively debate after sharing a customer interaction on TikTok. In the viral video, which has garnered over 7.3 million views, a customer can be heard ordering a tequila cranberry with a specific request: “no ice.” However, what unfolded next left viewers divided.

The customer, making his desire clear, repeated his request for no ice. Jemima, ever the attentive bartender, assured the customer that his request had been noted and then posed a question: “Do you want a DOUBLE tequila cranberry?” This seemingly simple query set off a social media firestorm.

In response to the customer’s request for no ice, Jemima calmly explained, “Just ’cause you say no ice doesn’t mean you’re gonna get more alcohol. Double, that means you’re gonna get more alcohol.” This distinction sparked a spirited discussion in the comments section of the TikTok video, with people taking sides on the issue.

While many viewers supported Jemima’s stance, asserting that the customer was trying to “pull a fast one,” others saw things differently. Some pointed out that they preferred drinks with less ice because they didn’t want their beverages to become diluted quickly. One commenter humorously quipped, “OK but sometimes we just want more drink, not more alcohol, so we don’t finish our mainly cup of ice in 5 seconds.”

Others defended Jemima’s professionalism, highlighting that she remained courteous despite the customer’s insistence. One TikToker noted, “As a bartender in a HIGH VOLUME setting, this is not even being rude. It gets frustrating being yelled at when you are doing what they ask.” Another commenter echoed this sentiment, saying, “The people saying you have an attitude clearly have never worked in the industry.”

Supporters of Jemima emphasized that bartenders often encounter such situations, and educating customers on the difference between “no ice” and “double” is necessary. They also commended her for maintaining her composure during the exchange.

Some viewers expressed astonishment that such a point even needed to be clarified, with one person stating, “Blows my mind that we still have to say this.” Overall, the video highlighted the complexities bartenders face in meeting customer expectations while ensuring responsible and professional service.

Jemima June, who boasts nearly one million followers on TikTok, has gained fame for her bartending skills, including her ability to open multiple beer bottles in seconds. Her engaging content has resonated with a wide audience, and her videos have garnered millions of likes.

This spirited debate on TikTok serves as a reminder of the importance of clear communication between customers and service providers, as well as the need for respect and understanding on both sides of the bar.
