Person captures a ‘glitch in the matrix’ while photographing the sky, leaving everyone puzzled.

“Right then so no glitch in the matrix……just the actual matrix. Excellent”

A photo of the sky has sparked intrigue online, with many calling it a “glitch in the matrix” and fueling theories that our reality might be more like The Matrix than we think.

From birds frozen mid-flight to eerie wedding dress photos, people have long speculated whether the bizarre events caught on camera point to something more. Now, another image, shared by Reddit user u/twisted_stinkeye, is adding to the conversation.

The photo, posted on the r/GlitchInTheMatrix thread, shows the sky, sun, and a road, with an arrow pointing to an odd section of the clouds. “I thought it was a reflection in the clouds, then zoomed in,” the user captioned.

Upon closer inspection, there’s a cluster of green dots peeking out from the clouds, appearing strangely out of place—almost alien.

Naturally, the internet reacted. One user, u/Phyllida_Poshtart, commented: “Right then, so no glitch in the matrix…just the actual matrix. Excellent. Not sure what the hell that could be, but it looks very symbolic in a close-up.”

Another user added, “Rare good post,” summing up the general buzz surrounding the image.

Even TikToker @gracefulshift analyzed the mysterious photo, further stirring curiosity.

The TikToker speculated that the strange phenomenon was merely a ‘lens flare from the sun,’ but she couldn’t help but wonder why it was shaped like a ‘honeycomb.’

Initially brushing it off as a ‘coincidence,’ she noticed that numerous people from different locations were reporting the same honeycomb-shaped flare. Intrigued, she began to investigate further.

Grace mentioned that she’d only started seeing photographic evidence of this honeycomb pattern in the past few days and urged others to share if they had witnessed it too.

“What is this? Why is this happening? It’s so strange. People are even talking about fake suns—like, are you serious?”

Despite the buzz, there may be a much simpler explanation behind the curious sight.

SimplyMac explains it’s likely you’re seeing these peculiar green dots when pointing your camera ‘directly towards a light source’.

Basically, when you point your camera directly at a source of light – such as the sun in the photograph above – the light reflects and scatters off parts of the camera lens.

The scattering of the light then appears in the image either like a streak of light or it can also appear like a green dot too – which would explain the above.

So, no Matrix this time, sorry Keanu fans.
