Everyone is making the same joke about Justin Timberlake amid the release of his mugshot.
The ‘Prince of Pop,’ 43, has just embarked on his sixth tour – the highly-anticipated Forget Tomorrow World Tour.
Now, it’s been overshadowed by his shock arrest in New York.
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, the ‘Mirrors’ singer was pulled over by police in Sag Harbor, a celebrity hot spot.
Timberlake was arrested for allegedly Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) after hanging out with friends.
TMZ reports that the pop sensation was following some friends leading the way, with the outlet observing that he was ‘not necessarily swerving or driving erratically.’
Cops told the outlet they observed Timberlake blow past a stop sign and fail to stay in a straight line while driving.
The 43-year-old had driven just over a mile before he was stopped.
The police claim Timberlake told them he had just had ‘one martini’ and was following friends home.
According to the complaint written by Sag Harbor Village police officer Michael Arkinson, it was ‘ascertained that the defendant was operating said vehicle in an intoxicated condition in that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy,’ per NBC News.
It continued: “A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”
A Page Six source alleges Timberlake refused to take a breathalyzer test and his friends were urging the officers to ‘let him go.’
The publication also reports that the officer who pulled the pop singer over ‘was so young that he didn’t even know’ who Timberlake was.
“He didn’t recognize him or his name,” an insider claims.
Another source tells Page Six that Timberlake ‘was a gentleman’ and ‘didn’t show any entitlement.’
Timberlake has been charged with one count of DWI. He is due in court in New York City on July 26, the same night he’s supposed to perform in Krakow, Poland, reports Sky News.
He’s also booked to play in the city the following night.
Insiders tell The Sun that Timberlake is desperate not to cancel the shows, saying: “Justin’s team will be working to see if they can make sure he can perform in Poland.”
The ‘My Love’ singer was spotted leaving the police station on Tuesday morning. He kept a low profile, wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses.
Timberlake’s mugshot has been released amid the headlines – and everyone is making the same joke.
The image shows Timberlake staring stoney-faced into the camera. His eyes appear reddened.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person shares: “After seeing Justin Timberlake’s mugshot, ‘Cry Me a River’ has been in my head… Heh!”
Another simply says: “Cry me a river…”
“Damn, it looks like Justin Timberlake has been crying himself a river,” somebody else jokes.
A fourth person remarks: “Justin Timberlake arrested for DUI? Cry me a river.”
