VIRALCaribbean Plane Crash Leaves 12 Dead, Including Famous Singer

Search and rescue operations are ongoing following a plane crash into the ocean near Honduras on March 17, which resulted in multiple fatalities, including the prominent Garifuna singer Aurelio Martínez Suazo.

The Honduran Civil Aviation Agency (AHAC) reported that the incident took place at 6:18 p.m., shortly after the aircraft took off from Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport in Roatán. The Jetstream 32 was conducting a commercial flight to Guillermo Anderson Airport in La Ceiba, with two crew members and 15 passengers on board.In response to the crash, AHAC activated the Search and Rescue Commission (SAR) to find the individuals aboard the aircraft. Additionally, the agency instructed the Accident and Incident Investigation Commission to proceed to the crash site and initiate a preliminary inquiry into the potential causes of the accident.Authorities later confirmed that the well-known Garifuna artist Aurelio Martínez Suazo was among those who lost their lives in the tragedy.

AHAC reiterated its dedication to ensuring operational safety and announced plans to produce a comprehensive report based on the investigation’s outcomes, in compliance with both national and international aviation standards.
