Beloved actor and Academy Award-winning director Robert Redford has died. Cindi Berger, the chief executive of the publicity firm Rogers & Cowan PMK, confirmed the news to the New York Times. Robert passed away in Provo, Utah, in his sleep. The statement noted he was in “the place he loved, surrounded by those he loved.” Robert Redford had a Hollywood career that spanned more than six decades. In addition to acting and directing, he co-founded the Redford Center with his late son, James Redford. Together, they gave back to the Earth with environmental impact filmmaking.
“We develop and invest in narrative tools that strengthen and broaden the reach of the grassroots efforts powering the environmental movement,” the Redford Center explains.

Robert Redford was a true Hollywood legend, and the news of his death stunned and saddened those who loved him.
“Our film, CODA, came to the attention of everyone because of Sundance. And Sundance happened because of Robert Redford. A genius has passed. RIP Robert,” Marlee Matlin shared on X.

take out the autograph & tell me the story. My parents showed me The Sting,
Condor, & I showed them Sneakers. He was the 1st movie star I can remember.
